Walt Disney World

Experience the magic of Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The property encompasses 25,000 acres and is home to 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, and 25 Disney resorts. Whether you're continuing a family tradition or starting a new one with your kids, Walt Disney World is a place of wonder and awe that no child is likely to forget.

Should I use a Disney Travel Agent?

Using a Disney Travel Agent, like us, isn't for everyone. If you want someone to give you advice and make all your reservations for resorts, dining, and enchanting extras, using a TA is the way to go. A Disney Travel Agent can get you all the discounts offered directly from Disney, and you won't pay any more for their services. Disney pays the TA to help you plan your vacation. Some clients even ask me just to take care of everything. I love using my knowledge and experience to create the best trip for my clients. It just takes some insight into their likes, dislikes, and preferences.

If you want to take advantage of extra savings through third-party travel sites or you like to take control and take care of every detail of your trip, a TA isn't for you. If you want to use a TA but think you'd prefer a third-party site discount, check third-party sites and compare the pricing to booking directly with Disney. If you can't get extra savings, use a TA. If there are extra savings, book through the third-party site and educate yourself on all things WDW to start planning.

How many days do you recommend?

Walt Disney World Resort is huge, with 4 theme parks and 2 water parks worth checking out. If you only go for a few days, you will miss much of Walt Disney World. I recommend a minimum of 7 days. Our family tends to go for 2 weeks, but no matter how long you can go, there are ways to strategize making the most of your trip. Maybe you don't have the time off work or can't afford a longer trip. You'll need to decide what is the most important for your family to see and do and focus in.

What strategy do you recommend for a 7-day trip?

For a 7-day trip, I recommend 5 park days, with 2 days at Magic Kingdom and 1 day at each other theme park. I wouldn't recommend going to parks on arrival or departure days. WDW is amazing but exhausting, so pace yourself. If you can add another day, I highly recommend a day off in the middle of your trip to relax and enjoy your resort. You might also consider doing a water park on that extra day. If you can add 2 more days, then add a day of rest and a water park day spaced out between park days.

When should you go to Walt Disney World?

If you've never experienced Walt Disney World at Halloween and gone to the Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom, it's something to put on your bucket list. Of course, the same goes for Christmas. The Christmas decorations are next level, and the Christmas party can't be beat. These are the 2 key Holiday times to see WDW.

Otherwise, most people are concerned with how busy the parks will be or how hot Orlando will be during their visit. You can look at park calendars and analyze crowd levels, but when can your family go? The truth is that the busy times are busy because kids are off school and families can travel. If you can go during a time with predicted low crowd levels, go for it!

WDW Prep School has a great crowd calendar, which includes average daily temperatures.
Picking a Resort

Should I stay at a Walt Disney World Resort?

Yes, I recommend staying at a Walt Disney World Resort. I have always opted to stay at Walt Disney World Resort when I could afford to, even long before I was an Authorized Disney Travel Planner (Disney lingo for a Disney Travel Agent). There is something magical about remaining in the Disney Bubble. It's an immersive experience where you can forget a world outside of Walt Disney World exists for a while. Disney customer service has never disappointed me, not to mention the extra perks.

Dining & Enchanting Extra Reservations

Dining
Dining Reservations are for table service restaurants. There are so many places to eat at Walt Disney World, and I won't be going into all of them. Instead, I will focus on three types of dining: Character Dining, Ambiance Dining, and Good Food. These happen to cover most of the saut after reservations. While I'm sure everyone understands character dining as eating a sit-down meal while Disney characters come and visit you, I'm not sure my other two categories will be clear to everyone. Disney has some immersive-themed restaurants, which I refer to as Ambiance Dining. Think Space 220 or Oga's Cantina (Star Wars). Restaurants that take you to another place. While there can be overlap, the last dining category is Good Food, which is a restaurant I recommend because its food is great. After all, we're talking about theme parks here.
